The Grand Beach of Manitoba

The Grand Beach, Manitoba, located on the eastern shore of the Lake Winnipeg, Canada, is one of the best freshwater beaches in the world. Positioned at a distance of around 80 Km from Lake Winnipeg, this beach stretches to about 3 Km. Spread with fine white sand, it is sited within the limits of Grand Beach Provincial Park. It is visited by more than 20,000 tourists from all over the world during the summer days. So, if you are planning to visit the beach, then you must book the hotel suite for a few days longer to hang out on the beach and cool down in the water.

The East Beach:
If you are looking for some peace and tranquility, then this is the best place to be. Far from the crowd, this part of Grand Beach, Manitoba is cut off from the crowd and noise of the tourists. Meant chiefly for families, this is an excellent place to consort with your spouse and kids. It is also very close to the campgrounds. The volleyball courts are expediently sited just off the beach. Beach Volleyball Tournaments are held sporadically, but otherwise the courts are free for usage. Tennis courts and golf course are also accessible nearby. Go for an exciting wind surfing as the place is ideal for the sport. About 48 seasonal camp sites are offered by the park. The activities include boating, fishing, bird watching, cycling, kite boarding, hiking trail, berry plucking, etc. In winters cross county skiing and snowmobiling are also to be had. At the end of a tiresome day stroll down on the beach and watch the breathtaking sunset.

For total repose and respite, come down early in the morning and spot out a suitable site where you can lie back on a blanket or a beach chair and behold the scenery throughout the day. The sand dunes on Grand Beach, Manitoba that rise to 12 meters from the sea level make a magnetic view.

Food and Shopping:
A boardwalk towards the western end of the beach will take you to some of the shops and eateries. The Surf Club serves excellent meals on the deck overlooking the waterfront. Some other restaurants that dole out mouthwatering delicacies are The West Beach Restaurant, Grand sand’s Motor Inn. They are only a few minutes of drive away.
